The U.S. Department of Justice has created a remission process for victims of Backpage and CityXGuide.
Petitions must be complete and submitted before the February 2, 2026 deadline.
Unpaid wages
Wages or earnings a person did not receive while being trafficked.
Medical and dental
Past and future out-of-pocket expenses for medical and dental, including dermatology (tattoo removal).
Behavioral health
Past out-of-pocket expenses for behavioral health needs, and the costs for future treatment plans (requires , including therapy, alternative treatment, and substance abuse treatment.
Ongoing medical needs
Continuous healthcare, treatment, or therapy required to recover or manage long-term effects of an injury.
